When I start dd on solids in a just inder 2 wks (when she's 26wks), I want to start giving her a few sips of water in a beaker with her food to get her used to a beaker.

Can she have tap water fro 6mths or does it still need to be cooled boiled water?

tap water is fine as a drink from 6 months

Sorry, another stupid q. Do I need to filter it or is nasty London tap water ok to drink? I drink the stuff but compared to lovely Scottish water (where I am from), it is pretty rank.

And another q - can you give babies bottled water?

We are in London and during meals I give her water from a water filter.

In the 'going out and about cup' I put in boiled water at the same time as I have my morning tea. It cools by the time we go out. I do this because personally I prefer water at room temp.

I read somewhere (cannot remember) that you need to be careful of bottled mineral water. Something to do with added salt? Or something. I cannot remember now

bottled waters can be high in sodium so if you do give it find one with the lowest sodium content. If you are ok with the tap water then I would just give it straight from the tap rather than filter it. If you do filter it then it should be stored in the fridge as the filtering process removes some of the additives, such as chlorine, used to keep tap water fresh.

I used normal tap water as I didn't have a filter. I believe Evian is fine for babies as bottled water goes, as it is lower in sodium.
