So, who runs Bounty? Who moderates it and who are they accountable to?

Its a commercial enterprise, no? Bounty and the baby food companies are licking each others arses connected. They have free samples of 'from 4 month' food and follow-on milk and all sorts in Bounty packs. Like this

So therefore its presumably not that important to them to ensure that safe advice is given out on the forums, as they are actually promoters of baby food.

Or am I paranoid?

Lol!! I am just making myself more cross!!

InTheDollshouse · 06/10/2008 14:09

I can't believe there aren't ethical practice guidelines about hospitals giving out commercial material. The more I think about it the more cross I'm getting too.

AnarchyAunt · 06/10/2008 14:24

Horrific isn't it.

I didn't realise bounty do the same in Australia.

DarrellRivers · 06/10/2008 14:28

I hate Bounty
Advertising crap

MrsJamin · 06/10/2008 17:12

They spammed me too even though I asked them not to send me anything. The spam email I got from them was for an advert of a loans company - how bloody irresponsible is that? It's blatant marketing not even pretending to be good advice like boots, babycentre or gurgle emails. Plus in adverts for the ladies that go round the maternity wards they want someone with a background in sales... why should the nhs allow salespeople to talk to mums who've just given birth?? It's outrageous really - I think the nhs must be given just lots of money by them.

VictorianSqualor · 06/10/2008 18:40

It's the child benefit forms that shock me the most. Surely it would be easier and more reliable to have the forms in the registry office and given to you when you register the birth?

InTheDollshouse · 06/10/2008 20:09

Absolutely VS, or given to you by your midwife.

MrsJamin · 06/10/2008 20:17

It's also annoying that they provide all that crap along with your pregnancy notes, the first bounty pack. Why are they allowed to do that? I guess th nhs really needs the money from them...

noopska · 12/01/2009 23:27

hospital gets £1 per pack given out..

Stretch · 12/01/2009 23:31

Really!!!???? How did you find that out?

MoooCow · 13/01/2009 22:48

Child Benifit forms used to be given at the registry office when \i had DD1 in 2003, then in 2008 they when not.

AnarchyAunt · 16/01/2009 09:51

Noopska - where did you find that out? Thats quite interesting!
