DD is 3 months old. She has started waking at 4am for a feed and doesnt seem satified after her bottle.

She watches us eat and has started trying to put things in her mouth. She has also started being sick after feeds from where I think she is having too much to try to fill up.

I am trying to hold off until she is 6 months old but I think she will be ready before then. DD is bottle fed on Hipp Organic and they dont do a Hungrier baby milk. HV advised to try her on some baby rice.

What is the earliest that you have weaned your lo? Have they had any problems?

DD 4mths watches everything I do, including eating and shoves everything possible in her mouth but it is developmental and she is also teething a bit.
She is mainly BF but has 1-2 bottles a day and has only twice ever taken 160ml. She usually drinks about 100ml.
3mths is surely far too young to consider weaning.

Here in Ireland, where the jars sold are the same as the uk, the guidelines say 6 months if your breast feeding, but 4-6 months if your formula feeding (don't quite understand why though). So the companies can flog their purées here for "4 month +" no bother. We're an English speaking country, so there's no need for different labels for both markets. That might explain it.

BTW, I started weaning at about 5.5 months, even though my lo had already grabbed a bit of avocado and put it in her mouth and eaten it a couple of weeks before. I'm glad I waited, purely for postponing all that faff of prepping food for her 3 times a day!

Stupid sil weaned her 11.5 week old pfb.

All because her Dr husband thought that a baby putting hands in their mouth meant the baby was hungry.
