Hi, is there anything along these lines that I can use in cooking (for the family so not special baby stuff)? I want to sart using my slow cooker to do food for all of us, Cassaroles, stews etc.

boots do low salt baby stock cubes, veg, chicken, beef

Even low-salt stuff is too salty for young ones. Do you want it for flavour, colour or thickening .

Can use tins of tomatoes and add herbs / garlic if your baby likes that kind of thing or add flavourings after like worcestshire sauce or salt if you want to our portions

is it? Thanks, that's useful to know

I wanted it for flavour, nothing else.

Waitrose do Kallo lo-salt ones, they're fine for babies, so little salt will actually get into them from it. I would try just flavouring with herbs instead if you can, though.

putting herbs in at the end does wonders for flavour; good for you too!

What herbs to you usually use? I have none at home, but might write them on the shopping list

I'm not a great cook but:

thyme - beef casserole
oregano & basil - tomatoey italian sauces
bouquet garni & bay leaves - most stews

Also pepper is great to add a bit more flavour, for e.g. I add it to omelette instead of salt to make it a bit more tasty.
