We're having quorn sausage, potatoes broccoli and sweet potato mash for tea tonight.
Will quorn be ok for him? Can't see why not but thought I'd check (only just started weaning and cant remember all the do's and donts from first time round )

The makers of Quorn don't recommend it for babies as it is too low in fat and calories and too high in protein for a baby's diet.

Occasional use is OK, but they don't recommend it until the age of 2, from memory (dh did some work for them once and asked them).

Do be aware that it causes allergies in a lot of people, and can lead to severe tummy upsets and diarrhoea - which may be one reason not to give it until he's a bit older.

It's highly processed and a bit nasty, I'd leave out the quorn, but that's personal choice.

Ooops, I didn't know that - I started giving DS quorn occasionally from about 15 months. I did read something the other day abotu quorn sausages having more salt than a couple of bags of ready salted crisps the other day though, which has made me a bit

Thanks. Will skip the quorn! (forever I think)

I'm totally allergic to quorn so haven't given it to my 17 mo just in case.
But, he loves tofu (the marinated chewy type) which is a good alternative.
