He was 1 on 18th January.

So typically mine will have:

Breakfast - 2 x weetabix
lunch - cheese spread sandwiches(2 slices of bread), banana or fruit pouch, yoghurt
afternoon snack - fruit bar
dinner - a portion of whatever we have so could be a pasta dish, sweet and sour chicken and rice, sausages and mash, roast dinner etc and a yoghurt for pudding
7pm - his bed time - 1/2oz of milk (mainly just as a routine thing, don’t think he’s bothered about having it)
10pm - my bed time - 1/2oz of milk (don’t always do this if he had a decent amount for dinner)

So does this seem like a good amount of food throughout the day? I worry he’s not having enough. Also, should I just stop with the bottles?

I would say this is what is expected and was very similar to when my DD was this age. We still do a cup of cows milk first and last thing of the day and I think that's just routine now.

Not sure if you're on cows milk, we started this soon as DD turned 1 and we had a few loose stools for a week or two while she got used to it.

All I would say is keep up with trying different foods and textures because since my DD turned 2 I noticed she is more fussy compared to when she was younger.

Sounds like you're doing a great job!

My boy has just turned two but at just turned one he was pretty similar and he was a really lovely chunky baby 🥰 only a couple of little differences, he also had fruit with his weetabix, he’d have some protein and veg with his lunch (I used to make things like chicken bars out of chicken mince, egg, cheese and flour etc) and some cucumber or carrot sticks.

He’s two now and still loves some “milky” before bed and in the morning! He has around 3oz at night but he hasn’t had milk between bedtime and morning since he was around 4 months old so maybe cut this one out if he doesn’t really need it?

Forgot to add we transitioned to a tum tum cup at this age and then eventually just moved to toddler cups.

Also if you're thinking they are hungry just offer more of the good things like greek yoghurt and gradually increase portions.

Thanks for replying, glad to hear that he’s having the right amount. My eldest is 7 so I just couldn’t remember what he used to have for comparison! Will take all your ideas on board thank you :)

You do forget so quickly dont you? This guide from the Caroline Walker Trust might be helpful as it suggests sample menus and gives guidance on portion sizes Smile
