Kallo very low salt stock cubes - OK for cooking baby food?

I've got the AK recipe book, and she tells you to make your own stock... I'm sure that's very virtuous, but I've never been one for making my own stock, and besides, my freezer is full of mashed vegetables so no room for vast quantities of frozen stock. So, when a recipe calls for stock, would I be alright using these very low salt stock cubes I found in waitrose? How much salt is too much for a baby? he's been getting a weetabix for breakfast, but they taste salty to me. And what about bread? Do I need to be quatifying the salt content of all his meals to make sure he isn't getting too much?

He's 6 mo.

I use them! I did make a load of my own stock but it was a complete faff and I managed to use it all on two recipes. I really don't think there is much salt at all in the Kallo cubes. I use them extra dilute just in case.
As far as everything else goes, I reckon as long as he's not getting too much of any one food - bread, cheese etc - then it's probably OK. Tricky isn't it?

babies under a year can have up to 1 g salt a day.

Big sources of salt are in things like bread + cheese, so don't give your baby a toast, cheese sandwich and soup stock on the same day for example.

As long as you minimise/avoid processed foods and check labels but make sure you look at salt content not sodium content as the sodium doesn't reflect the amount of salt exactly.

salt = sodium x 2.5. So a baby should have no more than 1g of salt or 0.4g sodium. But really, you should aim to keep it much lower than that. We don't need any more salt than occurs naturally in our food, and extra salt is bad for us.

just ditch the stock if you can't be bothered making it, the babies won't know the diff in a puree. for adult food, i find the kallo cubes deeeeesgusting so i'd be more inclined to make it salt-free then add a pleasant stock cube once the baby's portion/s are out.
