Allergy Testing 7 month baby

So we started solids 3 weeks ago. She is doing well and has tried many different vegetables, baby rice and a few different fruits. We have successfully passed the egg allergy test and will be giving egg x 2 a week.
Next I want to try Yoghurt.

The problem is I only have Lidl locally and when I looked at Yoghurt they all had salt in. I was going to get the small x4 Greek Yoghurt for her because we don't eat much Yoghurt and that amount would not be a waste then.
Even the natural full fat Yoghurt says salt. Any suggestions?
after Yoghurt this week I'm thinking peanut next week.. which smooth penut butter again from Lidl is okay?

when I test Yoghurt should I do as I did egg. 1 spoon 1st day, 2-4 next day and 3rd day mix with some fruit?
I'm sure she will be okay because she is on kendamil step 2 formula that has cows milk in?

If you need to do allergy testing can the GP not provide some guidance on this?

But if you aren’t worried about salt in peanut butter then I wouldn’t panic about a small amount in yogurt.

@ToKittyornottoKittyi think she means just trying different foods to “test”, rather than a medial test.

OP - do you have allergies in your family? I think you’re slightly overthinking it. One new allergen at a time makes sense but I don’t think you need to be counting spoonfuls each day. Nor being so rigid about how many portions of egg a week she’ll be having. Ongoing exposure to allergens is important but not something to tightly monitor in most cases I don’t think. We are careful with ongoing nut exposure because DH has an anaphylactic allergy so we wouldn’t generally have it in the house. I give our DDs a small spoonful of peanut butter every few weeks, alternating with nutella, because otherwise they’d never have any (school is nut free).
But if there’s no reason to think she’s at high risk of allergy, I wouldn’t worry that she’ll develop an egg allergy if she doesn’t get a two portions a week. And I wouldn’t worry about a dairy allergy if she’s having formula with cow’s milk.

OP kindly this sounds like overthinking boardering on anxiety. I get it a bit because I was scared of not following ‘the rules’ with baby 1. But I’m on baby 3 and I can tell you, just give the baby some yogurt with salt in.

There are people out there giving their 7 month olds salty chips and diet cokes. And their babies live. Admittedly it’s awful they are doing this and it’s not ideal for health, but you don’t need to follow every diet rule for every meal rigorously. A bit of flex here and there is fine. As long as you are giving healthy foods for most meals, you can relax a bit here and there

thanks, yes I'm a first time mum just going on what NHS guides say and sometimes chat gbt. I did think egg x 2 a week was a lot especially because we are only 3 weeks in and on single ingredients per meal. sometimes I now mix a veg or fruit with a small amount of baby rice to thicken it. I tried some BLW stuff but she's not picking up food yet

I didn’t really mean that egg twice a week was a lot - sliced hard boiled egg, or omelettes are great for weaning in my experience, and they’re healthy. I just meant don’t stress about the number of portions, or worry if you don’t hit it.

I would also ignore ChatGPT. It can be useful for some things but there’s a lot of nonsense on the internet about weaning and some of that will get pulled in to its responses. Follow the NHS advice on it, and it’ll be fine.

Are you sure they have salt as an ingredient? I just had a look at the Fage yogurt I have in my fridge, and there is some naturally occurring salt but the quantity is incredibly small.

If your baby drinks Kendamil formula and tolerates that then they don’t have a cows milk protein allergy (as formula is essentially just fortified cows milk), so giving cows milk yoghurt would not be an allergy test of any sort, as you already know they are not allergic. Fine to give just as a food though, and a tiny bit of added salt will be fine. Regular exposure to allergens once introduced is important in the literature, although with the number of potential allergens there are, trying to keep all of them going 2x a week will end up being impossible. Milk, egg and peanut make up about 85% of food allergies in children so I’d prioritise them. The formula already covers milk, you’re already doing egg, so peanut is still outstanding. Thin a little peanut butter down with some formula and feed it on a spoon.
