DS isn't great on finger foods still. Loves toast, rusks, cheerios. Will feed himself yogurt and lumpy food. I keep trying him with mini sandwiches, bits of salad, veg, fruit, pancakes, crumpets etc. and making his food more lumpy.

At this age, I'm just not sure what types of meals he should be having - up to now, it's been breakfast, then 2 main meals a day, e.g. fish pie for lunch, pasta bolognese for tea. When he starts eating sandwiches properly, is it best to have these for lunch or tea? feel like I'm still struggling with weaning at a stage when most babies are eating loads! any advice/ideas most welcome! TIA.

Easiest may be to try to get him eating what you eat, so if you'd have sandwiches at lunchtime, try then - he'll see you eating, and may want to copy. The other plus to that if that as you are concerned about his nutrition, you end up eating healthy stuff yourself...

yes, that's what I've been aiming towards as I don't want to have to prepare 2 lots of meals twice a day, it just threw me a bit that nursery give them a sandwich tea once they're toddlers and older, but I think it's because they expect you to give them a proper tea at home.

ah, i guess he'll just cotton on eventually then , thanks.
