11 month old baby suddenly off solids

Hi, looking for some reassurance, I know I’m probably over worrying but I can’t help it. My 11 month old DD was doing really well with solids just a few weeks ago, I was able to cut her milk down and she was enjoying three meals plus snacks, however in the last week this has totally stopped and she is refusing everything, even her favourite foods like yogurts, she is having milk and otherwise is happy in herself, has anyone been through this ebfore?

Possibly teething? We defo went through this and I just gave her whatever she would eat! Or up the milk a bit so shes getting some

This sounds like teething to me. My little one goes off food but will happily drink milk when she is teething. The first time I was really worried but after about a week or so she came back to food again. I would keep offering simple and favourite foods and then milk for the nutrition.

Food is just for fun until one. Please put her milk back to how it was as she still should be getting all her nutrients from it. Also she could be teething

That's not true of an 11 month old. It's very normal for the amount of milk to have been reducing at that age.

Teething is definitely a possibility though, OP. It could also just be a phase. My almost 11 month old goes through periods of loving food some weeks and then eating much less others.

Mummyof32023 · 23/09/2025 06:35

Yes it is. If she's not eating solids then the milk needs to be increased so they don't loose weight.

JRK87 · 23/09/2025 09:32

Thanks all she now’s seems to have also gone off milk not having as much as she used to. For those whose who have experienced this .. how long did this phase last with your LO’s?

How long has this been going on for? I was also going to say teething. Or maybe she is sickening for something?

JRK87 · 23/09/2025 15:53

@Emmz1510 I would say about 5 days, her head does feel heavy so I do think teething has a part to play but didn’t realise I could last this long. I thought it would be a day or two, she has no temperature and otherwise is very happy in herself, just seems to not want any food, but a week ago she was loving her three meals a day plus snacks.

How is she now @JRK87?

JRK87 · 29/09/2025 19:46

@BunnyRuddington shes so so, she had a temperature all day Saturday so definitely in the thick of teething, she still isn’t back to her usual self, she’s also gone off milk. Today she’s had about 360ml so far, she did however enjoy her breakfast which was a bowl of Greek yogurt with fruit. Lunch was a miss but she had some milk and dinner again was a miss but she had yogurt. She doesn’t seem to want her bedtime milk. I’m just hoping we soon get past this phase.

Does she feel any better after having Ibruprofen? She sounds like she’s suffering poor thing Flowers

JRK87 · 29/09/2025 20:03

@BunnyRuddington yes it’s definitely helped with getting her tempreture down. Today she’s not been as hot. It’s just difficult when she’s not eating or drinking much but thankfully she’s quite happy still in herself which gives me reassurance.

@JRK87 did this pass? Could have written this word to word.

JRK87 · 01/11/2025 18:33

@Tarsaurus this did pass, I would say it lasted about 3-4 weeks but she thankfully is now back to eating her meals, she turned 1 recently so I find now that the milk has cut back it has really improved her appetite for food.
