How much milk for my 9 month old?

My baby is 9 months, nearly 10.

Im worried I’m not quite getting it right with weaning. She absolutely loves solids and has been very adventurous with different tastes and textures. Food time is a big highlight of her day and she gets very excited when she’s put in her high chair! She really enjoys all foods and pretty much always finishes her whole plate.

For reference, milk wise I combi feed with no issues- breast milk when I’m at home, formula when I’m at work etc. Also, my baby is consistently on the 80% percentile with no worries around feeding.

We recently had our 9 month review with the health visitor and she told me I should be breastfeeding on a morning and before bed (which I do) and no other milk inbetween- just solids… which I was suprised at as I thought before age 1 milk was supposed to be the main source of nutrition? I questioned this but she was adamant, milk strictly twice a day and the rest solids for babies at this stage.

The issue is, my baby loves milk and won’t have her two naps without a milk feed first- either breast or bottle.
She’s also not interested in lunch, she very much enjoys her breakfast and evening meal and always eats it all- but never wants lunch, she just plays with it and would rather have two milk feeds (timed in with naps) through the day instead of lunch (never mind having lunch plus two snacks that the health visitor said she should be having!)

So I'm half worried she’s not getting enough milk- and half worried I’ve got it wrong and she should be on solids all the time. Obviously I understand the goal is three meals and snacks at 12 months but the health visitor was adamant this should be in place now and I’m just a little confused.

Sorry for the long post and please be kind ha! 🙈 I just want to get it right for her- is it a case of all babies are different or are there things I should be changing?

Im probably hugely overthinking but just looking for some advice!
Thanks in advance for all advice

@BeHangryGoldPoet

"the health visitor and she told me I should be breastfeeding on a morning and before bed (which I do) and no other milk inbetween- just solids"

doesn't seem to fit with NHS guidelines, I'd trust yourself in this instance tbh.

I would feed before the two naps and before bed. This will give her plenty of milk and should make her hungry enough for solids Smile

Blimey that health visitor is wrong from everything I read. Feed baby milk when they want it!

Ignore the health visitor. What you're doing is in line with NHS guidelines.

Bizarre. I would actually make a complaint about that. Strictly two milk feeds a day is not enough for a 9 month old baby.
