Ds2 (13 months) is refusing to be spoon fed

and isn't interested in feeding himself with a spoon either.
However he will eat sweet things like fruit puree, yoghurt and custard.
He's not too great with finger foods either and I'm running out of idea's for dinner time.
Lunch isn't normally a problem as he normally has a sandwich/toast/crumpet and he usually eats his porridge in the morning, providing I mix it in with a fruit pot.
Tonight for dinner he had roast chicken, carrots, brocolli and peas followed by some blueberries and a yoghurt, but tbh most of it got scrunched up and thrown on the floor.
Everything gets ripped apart and ends up in about 20 pieces,so if anyone has any ideas for easy to feed foods or how I can try and get him back to eating off a spoon,I'd really appreciate it,please.

My DS is 12mths and we are going through the same thing.........wont let me spoon feed and wont eat properly with finger foods

Yesterday I gave veggies and a fish finger in pieces in a bowl. Managed to get most of the ff down him but spat out any veg. AND THEN, we went to my dads for tea, and ds ate a massive amount of cauliflower off my plate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(it was covered in gravy and mint sauce.......maybe thats the answer ??!!)

Any advice I have had from friends is to keep up with what you aredoing and it will suddenly click with them...............

When dd has been difficult, I've given her nothing and just tucked in myself in front of her. Then she has wanted mine. I'll give her bits (in between eating myself) and she'll eat it quite happily, thinking she's getting away with something she shouldn't

Pasta? You can mix what you like with it.

DD has spirals and I either use Aitch's pasta, pesto and peas recipe. Or I mix the pasta with some tomato puree, basil olive oil, garlic puree and black pepper (don't know if your DS like things well-seasoned too). Then whatever of our leftovers carefully selected ingredients are to hand e.g tuna, ham, spinach, sweetcorn, cheese.

It's quite scary how much pasta they can put away.

And second Scoobi on whatever is on your plate being irrestistible.

do you eat at the same time? kids learn from example. i know it means your dinner will get cold but thats what microwaves are for.

Thanks.
I tried him with penne in tomato sauce, with grated cheese today and he loved it and quite surprisingly didn't make hardly any mess.Because he enjoyed it,most went in his mouth, rather than the floor.
Must admit we don't normally eat together which is probably half the problem,so I think I'll try and make a point of us all eating together, even if it's only one meal a day.Once he sees us using a spoon,he may be more inclined to eat off one again.
