When can you give finger foods?

Hello. I weaned my DD at 4 months (please dont lecture about the 6 months....). She is now nearly 5 months and eating 2 very small meals a day, of fresh fruit and veg, blended into a puree. Yesterday my mum gave her a rusk (no gluten and reduced sugar). And she did really well with it. She said I should be giving her more finger foods.

I am a bit wary of choking hazards, but dont know what the general thought is on this?

She has always been very good with her hands and has been picking up toys to put in her mouth etc since she was very small. She is also fine with sitting in her high chair and helps to feed herself (she has a spoon and I have one)

6 months - I doubt she would be able to do much more than suck/gnaw abit on finger foods at this age anyway.

i would say 6 months too but you could try her with softer things maybe like sliced bananas?

6 months once they are confident sitting up straight.

And then, keep it soft, cooked fruit and veg (apples, carrots), banana pieces.
