On the go baby lunch ideas

I have a nearly 10 month old and I find I avoid going out during the day as I've no idea what to feed her for lunch. Can anyone recommend on the go lunch ideas that don't need to be kept cold/need heated up and are not too messy so she can be fed it in her buggy?

We (still now at 2) use one of those snack box things, like a small lunch box divided into 6. Put a small sandwich, pieces of cucumber/grapes/strawberries, one section for a piece of cheese, one with some broken up bread sticks. A small yoghurt fits in there, or something chocolate buttons now he's older are very popular! Did you do baby lead weaning? I find chunkier things easier to transport! It gets easier once they're a bit older

I always took out sandwiches and cut up fruit and cucumber sticks at that age. Don’t give her food in her buggy though unless it’s properly upright, usually they lean back a bit and so could be at risk of choking.

If you’ve got a cool bag lunch box, then one things that worked well for us at that age was an egg frittata. Cooked firm like a Spanish omelette then chilled and cut up into chunks. I used to add cheese and grated courgette. Cold tuna pasta with creme fraiche was also quite good. Now nearly three, he loves a cheese quesadilla cold in his lunch box - just a wrap full of cheese folded in half, lightly fried and cut up.

Have you got some of those lunch box ice packs OP? They take the worry out of having to keep things cook Smile

I used to batch cook vegetable fritters and freeze them. Take some out whenever we went somewhere. Fine cold.

But yes, lots of smaller things for a snack box - fruit, nuts, hummus, breadsticks

I found savoury muffins useful too Smile

I have a backpack with a cool bag section at the bottom, and used to take a cream cheese and cucumber sandwich (cucumber chopped really small) and some slices of melon.
