hi, is it ok to give 6 month organic natural yogurt, thought would add pureed fruit to it, read somewhere that petit filou yogurts have more sugar is this right?

Petit filous are full of sugar - natural yoghurt should be fine, I have always used Yeo Valley with fruit in it and have never had any complaints form ds

Of course I did mean "from" ds, brain working faster than fingers

We have only ever given our two natural yoghurt with things we mix in ourselves. Started off with plain yoghurt then when they could manage lumps and bits we put sultanas, chopped apricots, sesame seeds etc in.
Natural yoghurt is quite tangy, we use greek style yoghurts as they are creamier - we buy the big tubs and just serve it in little bowls.
Read the ingredients on a petit filous, most of the sugar is disguised in words that end in 'ose' such as fructose which means sugar.

Just answered similar question on other thread - I'm a huge fan of Little Rachel's yoghurts. They do one yoghurt (in a 4-pack) which is only yoghurt and fruit, nothing else. Some of their brands have sugar in though, so check the labels. But to answer your question, yes absolutely nothing wrong with natural yhoghurt past 6 months, assuming that there isn't a reason why your lo has to avoid dairy.

I'd also second using Greek Yoghurt, v creamy taste. If you live near a Sainsburys, their fromage frais looks OK, think has grape juice to sweeten but not sure how much (ie whether just as sugary as petit filous). To sweeten our Greek Yog, I add mashed banana or baked apple, or any of the bought jars of fruit pudding - one jar can go a long way!
