Can you freeze carton formula milk?

I usually express milk in the evening (approx 2 oz) for my 7 month DD's breakfast cereal in the morning. If I have been too busy (watching too much desperate housewives!) I need an alternative. I have in my cupboard a few cartons of follow on milk. Once opened they only last 48 hours and therefore I don't use a whole carton and then have to throw it away. Can you freeze this milk (and full fat milk) into ice cubes so I can use only the milk I need (for cooking only) and reduce wastage?
Is there any benefit at all from cooking with formula rather than full fat milk? If not I'll stick to milk as it's cheaper!

I always used full-fat cows milk in cooking from 6 months, so don't know about freezing formula. My MIL freezes pints of milk tho...

I expect the formula company would tell you that their milk has lots of extra iron and other nutrients, but if your DD is having lots of bm still together with some food I wouldn't be too concerned. HTH

can you not just use fresh normal cows milk? it is fine in food from 6 months (if no allergies etc) but not suitable as a drink til 12 months.mIf you just bought 1 pint a week there shouldnt be too much waste if you use semi or skimmed milk. Personally i think its good to introducwe the taste of cows milk for when you stop bfing took ages for dd to take to it, i gave her tastes from about 7 months on cereal etc. she didnt drink it without spitting it across the room til about 18 months but would have it on cereal.

Thanks, DD's having 4 breast feeds a day and is gradually eating more and more. I'll try the cows milk then, nice not to give my money to the formula companies!
