10 month old not interested in solids

I've successfully dropped 3 day time breast feeds. My little girl is barely interested in food and I feel so frustrated that I'm doing something wrong.

She hates her highchair, she will eat some mouthfuls if you're holding her in your arms and will only eat her yoghurt pouch if she's on my knee watching tv. I have tried all sorts. We try different textures and foods and let her get messy but she just doesn't want to eat.

She's starting nursery in 2 months so need her to not have any day feeds but feel like I'll be starving her. She's also a bottle refuser and won't have milk any other way and also hates been spoon fed.. what do I do?! Am I over thinking everything? (Probably)

shedule below:

Morning bf between 7am - 8am
10.30am pouch yoghurt
12pm try with solids and bf
2pm bf (she would usually nap here) will try drop this one next maybe
Between 3.30 - 5.30 - solids depending on her mood
7pm last bf and bedtime
1 - 2 feeds in the night but not big ones

Hi Op, I was in a very similar boat to you when my DS was that age, he’s now 21 months and I was worrying more than I really needed to! He was and still is a bottle refuser, won’t drink milk from anything but me.

I have heard it can take a while longer for breastfed babies to realise that they get nutrition from food and so they will often revert to milk, whether it’s true or not I don’t know but it’s definitely my experience.

DS started nursery the week he turned one and within a few days was happily eating multiple portions of lunch and dinner, pudding included. You’d be surprised how different they can be when you aren’t around, and with the other children eating to copy them.

I would say just keep it relaxed at home and try not to put pressure on you or your little one. I also follow a midwife lactation consultant on Instagram (Lucy Webber) who said there’s actually little evidence to prove that reducing breastfeeds will increase solid intake, which I thought was interesting! Some babies just take longer to adjust to solids

My first showed no interest in food and until
He was one and same advice was given. Don't give up but keep it fun. I used to sit and have meals with my son so we ate together and gave him the same food as me. Most went on the floor.

For the highchair - what about some toys? With my second I did have toys stuck to the tray and he fed fine.

Going back to my first - when he started nursery I told them he was blw and within days he was eating soft baby style food after he started trying to eat from the other babies bowls
