Bamboo weaning sets a YES or NO?

I’ve been using normal plastic feeding plates, bowls etc but keep seeing bamboo weaning sets and how they are actually better for children.

Is this a thing that other parents on here are actually concerned about or not?

My boy is 4 now but I remember paying £17.99 for a Bamboo plate and was disappointed. Never seemed to be clean, stained easy and actually split at one point. I wouldn't bother to be honest.

I bought one when my eldest was young but used it very little. When I was busy rushing around and cleaning up after weaning, I'd grab for plates and bowls that I could shove in the dishwasher.

We just used normal (cheap, white) crockery that could be replaced if smashed. Is that an option?

Not had Bamboo Weaning sets but we do have some bowls and plates that we use for camping. I have to agree on the staining comments.

I've still got my bamboo set from when DD was 6 months! She's now 6! It has been fab.

I loved our wooden suction bowl and plate for sticking to the table when they were small. Found the plastic ones never stuck as well. Bought from Rinkit and still going strong 6 years, two children later!

We had a few of these, bought/given as gifts 5 years ago. Some have lasted well and are still in use. Others broke within months. They’re very fragile compared to plastic and I don’t think they can go in the dishwasher. IKEA sell packs of plates and bowls, 6 for £1, those have been easiest for us!

and how they are actually better for children.

In what way?
