My ds2 is 6 months old and seems to be a complete pig when it comes to his food and milk. He eats soooo much. He drinks on average 35-40oz of milk a day and won't drop the 1-2 night feeds he has as he seems starving when he wakes up. He has breakfast, lunch and dinner. He cries when the food stops. Doing a combination of BLW and spoon feeding and he eats everything put in front of him. He even seems to eat the food he doesn't like the taste of - he ate a big piece of avocado the other day while pulling a 'this is disgusting face'. He's not particularly heavy - I'd guess around 16-17lbs. He does seem to poo (TMI sorry) alot 3-4 times a day. Just a bit worried because it doesn't seem normal for his appetite to be so voracious. Any ideas anyone?

my ds2 is 5 month & on 3 meals a day plus lots of milk. he has always been a hungry baby. ds1 was the same & still eats for england. both are big for their age, not in a chubby way but length & build. i think some babies just have good appetites. both were big babies so not sure if this has anything to do with it. sorry not much help but just letting you know that there other greedy babies

I'm glad I'm not the only one! My son is also 6 months. I've only been weaning for a couple of weeks, and so far, he's yet to refuse food! Since starting solids he's gone from the 50th to the 91st centile and is now 20lbs 10z! He has 3 meals a day plus 5 bottles of milk. He's not crawling or even rolling yet so I guess when he does, his weight gain will even out. I'm not too worried as so far all he's had to eat is fruit, veg and baby rice - no pre-prepared stuff. Oh, and I gave him yoghurt for the first time this am and he did what emmy1979's son did with the avocado - ate it all while pulling a "this is rank!" face!
My personal opinion (and what do I know? ) is that food is a new thing at this stage and he's just being curious with it and wants to try everything. At some point, he'll develop likes and dislikes and realise that he doesn't have to eat everything. At the momnet, I'm making the most of it and trying to get as many new tastes into him as I can!
