Weaning at an all inclusive resort

We will soon be going on holiday to Lanzarote for a week with our little boy who is 8 months old. We will be staying at an all inclusive resort.

So far with weaning we have been doing a mixture of mashed and finger foods, which seems to be going quite well. We are currently doing 2 meals a day, however I think we are now ready to increase this to 3. For the most part we try to give him some of whatever we're having (minus the salt/spices) but we do sometimes use Ella's Kitchen pouches if we are in a rush or having something that isn't suitable for him (such as a takeaway)

I would like to feed our baby from the all inclusive buffet at the hotel, so I am just wondering if there's anything we need to be particularly mindful about in terms of what he can and can't have. For example, would it be ok to offer him fruit from the buffet even though it may have been washed in tap water? Would we be best to rinse this with bottled water first or is this not necessary?

Obviously it will be difficult to know how much salt and things are in the dishes. Would this be a problem or should we not worry as long as he is only having small amounts of these things?

Also, if anyone has any other general advice about travelling abroad with a baby it would be very much appreciated as this is our first time.

Thank you!

I. Any imagine the fruit being much of a hazard tbh.

The tap water is safe to drink. It just tastes different to what we are used to that's all.

We went away when DD was 9 months, and took some emergency pouches and snacks (enough for her to have one “pouch meal” a day) but she mainly ate what we had. She was a yoghurt fiend, so breakfast was natural yoghurt nearly every day, with some fruit puree, a tiny bit of toast. If you’re really worried, stick with fruit you can peel, but I wouldn’t bother.

I would try and avoid anything obviously salted, eg stir fry with soy, but just go for small portions. DD was also v happy with plain pasta, maybe with some grated cheese - I think most hotel buffets offer that at dinner.

I think fruit, bread, plain veg would all be fine but would be wary of too much salt in a lot of dishes.
Take some pouches and snacks with you as backup maybe?
