Help!! Advice on weaning a boob loving toddler

I’ve got myself into a bit of a situation with DS (19 months) and need some advice.
We’ve had a lovely breast feeding journey but I am ready to call it quits (I never intended on doing it for this long) however he has other ideas. To make things more complicated, he feeds to sleep. I know, it’s a terrible habit but I work full time and I’ve taken the easy route in comfort which is now biting me in the behind.
My eldest gave up on his own at 13 months and I assumed something similar would happen with this one.
DCs share a room with a bunk bed, younger DS has the bottom bunk with a bed guard and older DS (6) has the top bunk. I have tried not feeding him as he drops off but he cries hysterically to the point of almost being sick, doesn’t stay in bed and keeps older DS awake.
If I do feed to sleep he wakes at night, it can vary between once and multiple times, because he can’t put himself back to sleep. He has never slept through.
DH is often at work during bedtime, but he can put him to bed, it’s just easier for him if I’m out. I suspect I need to wean him off before I do any form of sleep training. Any advice on how to get out of this feed to sleep cycle with a toddler? I’m really tired and it’s causing a bit of strife between me and DH.

Hello @Mam8027 I personally don't think that feeding to sleep is a bad habit. In fact being able to feed them knowing that they will sleep afterwards is a bit of a bonus.

But it does sound as though you've had enough and want to stop.

The easiest way will be to do some gentle night weaning with a method like this one.

Do you have a DGP who DC1 can go and stay with for a night or two? If not, can you put DC one in a bit on your room whilst you wean him off night feeds?

Once you've got him used to not feeding at night, you'll feel better and you can then start dropping the daytime feeds Flowers
