Toddler struggling with crunchy food

My 21 month old still seems to be struggling with sone textures of food, especially crunchy food and things that require more chewing like meat. She also doesn’t like anything with rice. She is a bit fussy with food generally so I’m not sure how much is just fussiness or whether she is struggling to chew properly or just doesn’t like some textures. Should I be concerned about this? I wasn’t too worried until nursery commented recently that she was struggling with eating sliced apples. I don’t usually give her processed snacks but also noticed she was struggling to chew organix gruffalo cookies which are also quite crunchy.

Get her teeth checked out

Preferring not to chew meat at this age is fairly normal, I'd still keep offering it though if you're having it.

I've not come across the crunching thing before though and second the recommendation to get her teeth checked out.

Thanks for the advice! What do you mean by having her teeth checked out? She has been to the dentist once a few months ago and everything was fine. She has all her teeth apart from the final molars.

Just take her to the next check up and mention it to them? Wink

Just another though, has she ever been diagnosed with Tongue Tie? My DS had undiagnosed TT and struggled with solids for ages.

@CadyEastman She did have a TT and high palate at birth. We got it snipped but not sure if there is any lasting effect.

Could it have reattached?
