Weaning

12 month old is a nightmare with food! Lobs everything!

He just doesn't really eat! He throws everything. One small dubious looking bite, he'll go back in for more, I'll think yes! This is a hit! Nope, lobs it on the floor. It is literally everything. He'll lob five or six things on the floor in a row and then decide to eat one so it's not even like he's saying he is done. He barely eats! The only things I'm reliably getting down him is yoghurts, bananas and ham. His sibling ate just about anything at the same age and is a great eater now and I'm worried a bit. I don't understand how he isn't starving all the time, he will sometimes let me spoon feed him but unless it's yoghurt or mashed banana ends up turning away from you to indicate no more every quick. It's so disheartening when I'm making him egg and veg muffins, banana pancakes, pinwheels etc and he just lobs them on the floor, puts me off making the effort. But even convenience foods his brother used to love, like a ham sandwich rolled really flat then rolled into a circle and cut into slices get thrown on the floor. Scrambled eggs on the floor. He won't even eat toast! What am I meant to feed him?!!

First question, which milk is he on and how much does he have roughly in a day? Wink

Same here! Strawberries often go down well.

Me eating first and him taking it from my hand or mouth often helps too

I used to put small bits done one by one so he’d eat one and get another one. It seemed to overwhelm him when the plate was full.
