Best purées for trapped wind

So on the advice of the health visitor she has told me to introduce solids to my 5.5momth old. She doesn't sleep, she's got really bad trapped wind and can go days without pooing. She is breastfed but does have a bottle of Kendamil about 10pm at night. She also uses their probiotic drops and has infacol before a bottle. She never burps after a bottle no matter how.much I try and wind her.

What purées can I make to help her move the wind and constipation along?

Prunes? I think cooked apple can help too, if the prunes are too much. DS used to also have Hipp fennel tea but when he was a bit older than your DC. It's not actual tea, it's basically fennel seeds in teabags, it's quite common in some countries to give it to babies with trapped wind, a German relative recommended it to me and it really helped ds

Prunes.

My EBF DS only pood once every 3 days. He wasn't constipated at all, I was advised it's fairly normal. Try a pouch of Ella's Prunes Prunes Prunes and see if they help?

Is it definitely trapped wind? Does she have any of these symptoms?

Glowz · 12/02/2024 06:05

Yep I'm sure it's not CMA. She has no other symptoms apart from obvious trapped wind like tightening her whole body (iykwim). It only bothers her at night too.

She will be fine all day, even do a poo before bed and I'm thinking, oh we might have a good night finally. Then by 1am she's up all night, won't go back in her next to me and if she does it's for an hour max then she's up again. It feels like she's breastfeeding for 4 hours a night and it's really taking its toll on me

Feeding often in the early hours and wanting to be close to you is fairly normal though. Is she getting plenty of feeds in during the day? When my DD was like this I offered a feed every two hours in the day and it seemed to help Wink
