Water drinking consumption ideas

Our 9 month old is naturally weaning himself off milk. Has 3 meals a day already and doesn’t like his diary free allergen milk, he has some of it but not loads and it’s gradually reducing the more food he has.

As such, we are wanting to keep him hydrated as much as poss but he will only drink water out of a glass.

Having trouble him drinking out of any containers that require him to suck the water out. Clearly he is lazy and wants instant gratification!

Does anyone have any recommendations? If he continues to drink out of a glass it just goes everywhere!

Have you tried a 360 cup? Tommee tippee and nuby do really good ones. Also the nuby sip n grip is excellent 😁

Thank you for the recommendation! I have tried the munchkin 360 but i have found you really need the suck the edge of it to get the water out if it.

Maybe I will try some of the others! I think it’s a bit of a trial and error thing to find the right one.

Just really worried about him getting dehydrated!

Yeah my little one kept pressing on the rubber and dropping water out of the 360 that's why I got nuby sip n grip, he can wave it around and it doesn't spill at all😊

We had a doidy cup, you just need to have a towel etc at the ready.

These are free flow. Or you can take the valve out of a sippy cup usually.

How small and light are the glasses?
Mine drank out of a doidy cup from 6 months. Start with about a cm in the bottom. Shot glasses are the other vessel I've seen recommended.

There is nothing wrong with open cups if that's what you and DS want. Personally, the rule is all food and drink in the kitchen, so valves aren't as important as families who like to have liquid available when e.g. watching TV.

I taught mine to drink from a foist cup by giving it to them in the bath so the spillages wouldn't matter Wink

My son only drinks out of a glass/mug. Not a bad thing 😊
