Hello all.
I have a long history of anorexia/bulimia and do still struggle with this now. So now my baby is nearly 6 months and I need to started weaning. I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by the guidance. Basically, I'm seeking a meal plan to get me started. It would help if I knew day by day, week by week, what to feed. Can anyone suggest a website or app for this, please?

Not a meal plan, but this is helpful in where to get started.

There are some good, simple recipes on there, thank you.

There’s an excellent book called ‘How to wean your baby’ which includes a step-by-step meal plan and shopping lists for the first thirty days. I’ve found it really helpful and my baby seems to be enjoying everything so far. Here’s the link to it on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wean-Your-Baby-step-step/dp/1785043242/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=33M7FH7O6NXDJ&keywords=how+to+wean+your+baby&qid=1694985916&sprefix=how+to+wean%2Caps%2C222&sr=8-1

I was about to recommend the same. I loved how straightforward it made the early days of weaning.

I think the trick is as well to not over think it. Baby's will eat when they're ready. But I can appreciate how easy it is for me to say that. If you find weaning is triggering any feelings yourself, have you got a friend/ family member you can lean on for support?

Great recommendations, thank you! Really like the sound of this book and I'm going to buy!

This guide might be useful as once you get to 7 months there are suggested menus and portion size guides.

I always found the toughest but was knowing how much they should be eating especially as DC1 had a much bigger appetite than DC2.

I think the best things you can do though are to eat with them, don't get upset if they don't eat and assume they're just not hungry and take lots of photos Wink

I also recommend How to Wean your Baby, plus there is a book called Ella's Kitchen The First Food one (i think - its purple so you cant miss it!), which has breakfast, lunch and dinner ideas for 6, 7, 9 and 12month olds. I found it really helpful alongside How to Wean your Baby as its split into age ranges a bit more closely.
