What juice do you give 7 month old?

I have a teething 7 month old and he wakes in the night but is usually calmed down when he has a cold drink, I am currently giving him heinz baby juice but its fairly pricy and vaguely remembered giving Ds2 watered down fruit juice, although it is aparently a big no no these days (what isnt).
I know water is best for him but he hates it and turns away as soon as I give him it, so I need a juice that isnt going to rot his teeth before they arrive!!

What juice is ok to give him?

If he won't drink water, I'd live him watered down fruit juice.

I really don't think it's the end of the world as long as it's diluted and teeth are brushed twice daily

GIVE

any fresh fruit juice diluted would be ok - no need to buy 'baby' juice

Thanks for that. I remember giving my other kids watered down fruit juice but everything has changed since then and most sites I have looked on say DONT give juice, DONT feed them juice in a bottle only a beaker. The poor mite hasnt even got his tooth through yet, and I think the cold drink helps the sore gums when he wakes. Im hardly going to ram a beaker full of cold water down his throat at 4 in the morning but these experts freak me out when they tell you you MUSNT do these things. It seems that everything they told me when I had my first son 10 years ago has totally changed and I feel like a first time mum again!

It is hard isn't it?!

The only thing I'd say is do persever with the water - not in the middle of the night but maybe start offering a sippy cup with solids.

It may take him a while to drink much - I think my ds was about 10 months before he drank a fair amount as he still had quite a lot of milk before then, - but it is good to get them used to it.

check that the juice does not have added sugar. water down to 1/10th strength and see how that goes. alternatively you could squeeze a bit of orange juice into some water as this always tastes nice.

I tend to give water in a sippy cup but on the odd occasion dd2 has juice it is usually really well diluted no added sugar diluting juice, Asda own brand. DD1 has the same but with very slightly more juice in it.

I wouldnt give a 7 month old no added sugar squash as it has artificial sweeteners in which arent suitable for babies. A bit of sugar would be better than artificial chemicals.

Any juice (fresh or not) is pretty hard on the teeth if you are giving it during the night. Might be best to try and get into the water habit now?

don't (sorry) give him watered down apple juice tho as my mw suggested to relieve constipation (i couldn't remember if it wa sapple or orange)- it gave her really bad stomach ache for two days hope he feels better soon xxxxxxxxx

NB if he wants something cold on his gums would one of those teethers you put in the fridge do? dd (nearly 7m) lurves hers - we have three and rotate them so there's always one chilled.
