How much does your toddler drink?

dd (15 mo) doesn't seem to drink much. I looked up the recommended fluid intake for her weight and its around 34 oz. This includes fluid in food but I don't think she's anywhere near that.

On an average day she'll have 2 oz milk on cereal for breakfast, a yogurt (2 oz maybe), and 7-8 oz in a bedtime bottle. She drinks water from a sippy cup throughout the day but no more than a few sips at a time, and no more than 6 oz in total, often much less. I can't get her to sit still and drink any volume.

So 18 oz tops, and at the moment she has a cold and is off her food, so probably more like 10 oz. I want to drop the bedtime bottle but I don't think she'll take anything like that much milk in a cup, and I worry that its the main drink of the day for her. She shows no signs of dehydration - should I try and get her to drink more?

My ds is same age and I've had big problems getting him to drink. If nappies are wet I am assured by HV he is probably ok.
My ds now drinks some water from sippy cup, but totally gone off milk! TMI - his pooh is sloppy so i think he's ok!!

Does she eat fruit and veg? They are packed with water. Even "dry" foods like bread have water in them. I don't think you need to worry. If she wasn't peeing or was constipated or lethargic, it might be a problem, but she sounds ok? Ds is 19 mths and seems to drink bugger all, but he has sodden nappies and is full of energy.

Why do you want to drop the bedtime bottle?
My ds still has milk before bed and he is nearly four.
Dd is 17 months and she has a bottle when she wakes up and a bottle before bed.

Thanks for replies. She is full of energy but nappies don't seem particularly wet. Is hard to tell with disposables but they don't get very heavy like they used to when she had more bottles per day. Nicky, she does eat fruit and veg, maybe I'm underestimating how much fluid she gets from her food. She does seem fine.

Posieflump - HV told us we should switch from bottle to beaker at around 12 mo, so we did for all daytime drinks but she still likes her bedtime bottle. I'm intending to give her milk at bedtime but was wondering about making the switch to beaker or not.

I really wouldn't bother just yet.
Having a beaker in the day is really good and one bottle at night is fine for now.
