Tea ideas for 9 month old at nursery?

I’ve just found out we have to provide tea when baby goes to nursery. They do a big cooked lunch- stews, casseroles, pasta type meals- so I’m wondering what to send in for the tea which they have at 4pm. Another cooked meal that they heat up? Or something smaller, lunch box type things? I’d appreciate any suggestions!

Will he / she have dinner when they get home?

Tea at 4pm is just a snack. Hummous and pitta, cheese and apple cubes, flourless muffin, marmite and cream cheese wrap etc

I'd be careful with marmite with a 9 month old haha.

Banana
Cheese
Bread roll with philly
Rice cakes
Pizza pin wheels or similar
Humous and bread sticks
Steamed veg
Crudités

I would also say it more of a cold snack at 4pm. As they will eat main and desert at lunch, then eat again sometime when home.

I would probably just do a simple cream cheese, houmous, or similar 1/2 sandwich. Some chopped up fruit, and give them a little yogurt.

Then give something like soup, scrambled eggs, porridge when home

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Cold snacks seem to be the way with a hot meal at home.

I doubt Nursery would heat food up either as it'll be against health and safety guidelines.

If they are having a hot meal at lunch then cold sandwiches crackers cheese etc is fine for tea.

Bowl of warm porridge at about 6.30 before bed and that's all that'd be needed.

They said they had a microwave to heat up food and that some parents sent in pouches. I was considering soup or leftovers from the evening before but wasn’t sure whether lunch type food would be better. I’ll try out the suggestions here and see what he likes/ is enough

Oh that's good, our nursery won't heat up stuff at all! At least you have that option if the lunch/snack foods don't suit her x

Mine has to take similar for mid morning, and being cold I find it easier as I can prepare a few days at a time. Ie I cut melon yesterday and put enough in 3 tubs for weds/ thurs/ Fri nursery snack. I also cut raw veggies like pepper for a few days. Then it’s just make a quick sandwich, or similar each morning fresh and add a few berries
