Help 😅

We started weaning at 5.5 months on medical advice, took purées for about a month then decided to BLW (which was our initial plan when she hit 6 months.) She’ll put food in her mouth, she’s happy playing with it, but will she bugger actually swallow much, if anything. She won’t allow spoon feeding unless is puréed pudding such as fruit.

i’m at a bit of a loss as to what to do with her?

Is she actually hungry?
You may need to reduce her milk

Have you tried eating at the same time as her so she can see you doing it?
I eat my breakfast at the same time as my baby and either eat my lunch with him or make a bit extra of his food so he can watch me eat then I have my proper lunch when he's napping. When he started on solids I would take big exaggerated bites and swallows so he could see what I was doing with the food.
That and making sure she's hungry enough / not full on milk. We had to wait 60 - 90 mins after a bottle before trying with solids at the start and then switched to solids first, milk second.

What's your feeding schedule for both milk and solids?

Can you not do a mixture of purée and BLW?

It's a work in progress OP, my daughter is almost 2 and still struggles with the eating. It's a combination of perseverance and test and try.

I would say it's definitely too soon to reduce the milk as she is only 8 months.

I always my daughter what l'm eating.

Try and eat dinner with her so that she can see that l'm eating too.

Let her explore, and eat at her own pace. My daughter eats at a very slow pace.

If she has a highchair then just let her carry on eating at her own leisure.

Don't give up!!
