What does your 7/8 month old eat in a day

My DD started on BLW at 25 weeks and it took her 3 or 4 weeks to learn how to swallow anything. Once she learnt to swallow, she started shovelling everything into her mouth and her appetite has grown.

Yesterday she ate:
Breakfast- porridge (a few spoons, she's not a big fan of being spoon fed) with half a banana and a rice cake with peanut butter
Lunch- a slice of buttered toast, smashed avocado, a scrambled egg, tomato and cucumber slices and a couple of strawberries
Dinner- mashed potatoes, mashed carrots, couple of brocilli and cauliflower florets and a bit of fish, half a yogurt

Does this seem excessive?!
She still drinks 21 ounces of breastmilk per day

My 9 month old eats less but I thinks it’s attention span rather than appetite. She wants to feed herself and it takes ages. More than 3 elements to the meal in front of her and she will get overwhelmed and start “tidying “ bits onto the floor.

how does yours eat so well, would you offer all that at once or multiple ‘courses’?

I offer her all at once, but if she clears her tray (and often is straining her neck over so that she can lick off any remains too!) I give her dessert - either a rice cake with nut butter, or some yogurt or fruit puree.

She started off not eating much, then she'd eat more, but would it would take her the best part of an hour, but now she's reaching for the next handful as the previous mouthful of food is still in her mouth and she hoover's everything up in 5-10 minutes.

Today, we had curry and I put a portion aside for her before I added salt and chilli. I mixed it with rice and had about half of my portion for her, thinking it'd do 2 meals as I also gave her fingers of fruit and veg on the side. She ate the lot! I was astounded. Then just now, 2 hours later drank 8 ounces of expressed milk before I put her to bed

I forgot to mention- she's 32 weeks, so about 7 1/2 months

That’s really interesting, thanks. Maybe I need to offer more variety per meal and accept it will take longer to eat.
We do the same with curries, tonight was lentil dahl with fried mushroom on the side.
Lunch was cheesy mash with green beans, followed by some melty crisps and yoghurt with pumpkin seed butter and prune purée.
Breakfast half a shredded wheat with strawberries and milk.

As to whether your DD is eating a lot, sounds like quite a veg heavy diet -which is great - but I’d have to eat a huge quantity of just veg & fruit to fill up! Maybe once she masters the spoon for herself she’ll be able to get more carby/protein type stuff in? Sounds like she’s doing brilliantly anyway Smile

That sounds great!

My DC (7 months) eats a lot less, I think, but she has digestive issues so I think that makes her a bit hesitant about food (I don't think my cooking is that bad...). Yesterday, for example, she had:
Breakfast - mango and apple purees (about 4 spoons each), half of a rice cake.
Lunch - about half a portion of veggie dahl.
Afternoon snack - about half the inside of a dough ball with hummus.
Dinner - nothing (didn't want it).
She much prefers breastfeeding!
