Giving BLW a go and finding it, well, miraculous really!! But have silly breakfast question...

Read up on BLW and decided (against DHs better judgement) to go for it. Started last week. DD has tried carrot, roast potato, chicken, raw pear, cooked apple, crumpet, Yorkshire pudding, toast, curry, in fact everything non salty that we have had (well except crumpetsd which I found out are shockingly salty!) And she loves it! I don't think much is going down but she is only 6m and is still BF as much. It has been amazing to me how she can sit with a piece of chicken in her mouth for 10 mins sucking and chewing, occassioanlly trying to swallow, gagging and going for it again until she has had enough and spits it out!!! Why oh why did I spend hours with the blender for DS1 & 2!!
Just a thick question- we all eat porridge at brekkie (with toast) and want DD to get to like it as we all do- how do you BLW stuff like that!!! And things like pasta bolognaise another staple.... She has not enjoyed anything on a spoon to date...

It's messy...
DS eats his porridge by himself. He LOVES it and probably eats a portion as big as mine or DH's.. He's 9months old, but has been doing this since 6 or 7 months.
We make it thick enough that he can sort of grab a fistful and suck it out of his hand. Or he dips his head in the bowl and eats it like a pig at a trough! I should say that the bowl is one that in theory can be succtioned onto the tray, but when we get fed up of him picking it up, we just scoop out the porridge onto his tray.
Same with pasta and sauce, if the sauce is thick enough then it stick to the pasta and he can suck it off himself.

We found a combination of the ikea 'rain coat' bibs and underneath a 'cummerbund' made from a teatowel pegged at the back keeps most of the mess off his clothes.

Or just make it really thick and over cooked so it can be cut into wedges (like flapjack).
