Fed up of toddler eating

I've just got to the end of my tether with his eating.
I've tried absolutely everything but I cannot get him to eat off a spoon. He will only eat foods he can pick up. He won't even take medicine now.
He won't have cereal, yogurt, ice cream.... anything.
It's sooo hard.
Any tips?
He's just turned 2 :(

Dry cereal
Yogurts that come in tubes or pouches
Ice lollies

When you say he won't take food off a spoon, who gets to hold the spoon? Him or you? Give him some food, give him five spoons and let him crack on would be my advice.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much if they are eating wel otherwise. Just leave a spoon next to him and don’t mention it. You always eat with him and model using a spoon. Narrate it, say mummy is taking a big scoop of yogurt with her spoon.

If he doesn’t eat his yoghurt or whatever, no problem. Clear up, don’t mention it and don’t give him anything else until you are next scheduled to eat. The more pressure you put on, the less likely he is to use a spoon.

Alternatively, sit him on your knee while you eat a yoghurt with a spoon. Don’t offer any or mention it, just bring the spoon to your mouth slowly to give him the opportunity to ask or take a bite.

I’d also practice using a spoon away from the table during messy play or scooping up coloured rice into different pots to practice the skill of holding a spoon.

It’ll be a phase

Keep offering spoon food along with plenty of food he can pick up, and use spoons in play as Pp suggests, and let him see you eating with one. Don’t make a big deal of it with him, and don’t worry - it’ll pass,

Have you tried pre loading a spoon with greek yoghurt and putting it down in front of him?
