BLW how long to wait?

Just the title question really!

I have a 6 month old and some meals are more successful than others but I don't really know when to take the food away.

It can't be when she's eaten everything because she won't yet she will keep playing with things for a long time (she will also start to grab when you take food away).

So how do I know when she's done?

Also if there is something on the plate she won't pick up or try, how should I make sure she tastes it?

Thanks in advance :)

Let her play for as long as you have time to, if she's eaten plenty and is playing rather than eating, you can take the food away.

If she isn't trying foods try to display them differently. E.g. dessicated coconut on slices of banana, fruit chopped in yoghurt etc.

Just let her explore the food until she is done 😊 She will let you know when she has lost interest.
Eat at the same time as her which will encourage her to eat too. She's still super tiny so don't worry about her not trying everything.
Don't give her too many different things at once.
Anything she doesn't try just offer her another time to try again.

Thanks I usually try to give her 3 things at a time. Today is veg omelette (she's tried it before and loves it), avocado with mild chilli powder (tried before and likes it) and roast sweet potato wedges (not tried before). She's only really interested in the omelette today haha

They all sounds perfectly normal @kagerou. Some days they eat more than others and some days they will ignore a good that they've eaten enthusiastically before.

Thanks @BunnyRuddington ^^
