My LO has always been a nightmare for drinking the recommended milk amounts so weaning was going to be fun!

So far they're eating breakfast and tea, last couple of weeks introduced a mid morning snack now lunch ontop of milk feeds.

We're doing a mix of jar/pouches and baby led, less of the latter unfortunately. Depending on appetite they usually eat all of the smaller jars, and all of a pouch but I'm finding they're only eating half of the 7m+ jars....should they be eating the whole thing?

It's been a while since mine were that age but thought you might find this guide from the Caroline Walker Trust useful as it gives sample menus and portion sizes Smile

DD is 8 months this week. She's a very good eater and is around the 30th percentile for her weight (since birth). She has just starting crawling and cruising around furniture and this matches a spike in her appetite. Typical day:
6am a 5oz bottle
8am small bowl porridge (fine milled, full fat milk and a few spoons of mashed/pureed fruit in)
10am 4oz bottle (rarely drinks) before her morning nap
12am small bowl of food (1 mashed up hard boiled egg with few spoons of beans or tinned spaghetti plus toast soldiers is a typical lunch) followed by mashed banana or 2 small yogurts. Full pouchs of Ella's Kitchen style savoury and fruit pouches if out and about.
2:30pm 4oz bottle (rarely drinks) before afternoon nap
5pm small bowl of food (baby pasta or rice with sauce made from tinned tomato or cheese sauce and mince, shredded chicken and finely sliced veggies, sometime use the heinz baby pasta sauces, added cheese) and dessert (small bowl of custard or rice pudding with pureed or mashed fruit).
7pm 6oz bottle (usually has 3/4 oz before bed.
Water is offered throughout the day.
I'd wish she have more of her bottles, but she just isn't interested
