Is there a definitive book on BLW I can buy?

I realise there's tons of info on MN and the famous blog, but I'd find it useful to have a book (if I'm honest it's mainly so I have something my parents and in-laws can read as I know they'll think we're crazy).

DD is only 4 months but I'm already thinking ahead.

Thanks

NB In RL no one I've met has done it - my NCT friends are getting themselves kitted out with ice cube trays, blenders and the Karmel book

there's no book, only a dvd - here you go

dd is 4m too and two of my NCT posse are already ploughing ahead with the baby rice
A couple have expressed mild interest in blw but I am trying not to be too boring and evangelical about it yet...

recipe-wise this is pretty good too but it doesn't cover the whys and wherefors.

The DVD looks good. Not sure how I could force my parents/ILs to watch it without appearing defensive but they are unlikely to want to read a book cover to cover so it might be worth a try.

Baby rice sounds pretty unappetising. If it wasn't for MN though I might have assumed it was obligatory to give it to DD at some point.

or strecth the truth - get that finger food book and tell them you are following 'the Jenny Malziel Method - look, it's all in this book...'

Magrat has a good piece of advice with regards to talking to parents about this, I think it goes, um, "fark off!"

Seriously though, I have the DVD (borrowed from a bfing group or else I would send it to you) but I wouldn't say it's worth £30 for a 15 min vid! You can get all of the advice on here really. Someone might be able to link to some impressive looking article by Gill Rapley [sp?] though which might pacify your parents.

I do sympathise though, we have just started BLW and all my family have given me weird looks or actually expressed their skepticism in no uncertain terms! If possible best to avoid the subject, or lie (exaggerate) it's only a short period of time really. My hint (gleaned from here really) is to get the LO practiced for a few days before doing it in front of skeptical relatives. We started last friday and by Xmas day when my mum was here she loved watching DD eat xmas dinner and laughed as she sucked the life out of slices of pear!

It takes a little determination but it'll be great!
