What does a typical days food look like for your 7 month old? I'm struggling to think of new meal ideas already?

This guide is good @NEbotherpet as it gives sample menus and suggested portion sizes.

If you're after meals that you can all eat together, try the BLW cookbook.

And there are some pretty good weaning recipes on MN too Smile

Not sure what's going on with that post, think it's lost all of the links Confused

The Guide is here.

PanicBuyingSprouts · 25/11/2021 22:38

This is the cookbook.

Mine is older than that now, but because I was a total PFB weirdo I still have the notes in my phone where I’d recorded everything she ate Hmm Blush

Not that different to the sorts of things she has now at nearly 16 months to be honest, she was probably a better and less fussy eater back then, these days she only really wants fruit, yoghurt or pasta, occasionally broccoli if it’s smothered in cheese sauce.

Breakfasts - porridge - with different fruits, milled seeds, bit of nut butter (once checked for allergies), milled seeds, ground almonds etc etc. Carrot cake porridge is nice with grated carrot, grated apple, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Other breakfasts - weetabix with similar to above, shredded wheat bitesize soaked in milk (might have been a bit older when we started those), greek yoghurt with fruit and seeds, toast fingers with different toppings (usually about half a slice she’d eat at that age, won’t touch bread or toast now), half a crumpet, omelette or scrambled egg, chia pudding made by mashing some raspberries and adding chia seeds and a splash of milk the night before, served with yoghurt

Lunches - omelette, scrambled eggs, or toast with different toppings if not had for breakfast, picnic plate with grated cheese, some fruit, homemade hummus (shop bought these days), pasta or couscous with a tomato/ veggie sauce, savoury muffins especially the smoky chickpea ones from the What mummy makes books, tinned sardines or mackerel with tinned potatoes and green beans

Dinner - some version of whatever we were having - broccoli/ cauliflower cheese was always popular, as well as pasta with pesto (I made my own with chickpeas and spinach which was a recipe on the SR Nutrition Instagram - made a load and froze in portions), vegetable frittata also went down well, lentil cottage pie, sweet potato and butterbean mash

God I wish she’d eat half of that lot these days!

What mummy makes is now Rebecca Wilson Food on Instagram, often shares recipes, I like the books too, and SR Nutrition has lots of recipes on Instagram and her blog www.srnutrition.co.uk/
