Baby is so eager to eat, but almost everything I offer makes him itchy. Anyone else with similar experience? When did your LO grow out of it?

What foods have you offered?
Where is he scratching?
Does he have known allergies?

Hope54321 · 01/09/2021 17:59

I offer single ingredients only to help identify allergies:

So far he itches after eating:
Banana
Apples
Strawberries
Tomatoes
Weetabix
Pasta
Milk
Baby porridge
Tangerine
Cabbage (might be due to something else)
Green beans (might be due to something else)

He has eczema on his arms and legs. When he itches after eating it’s usually his neck and back of his neck.

Banana and milk gives him hives.

Too scared to offer other potential allergens.

Have you spoken to a GP?
Sounds like you need help identifying allergens in his food

dementedpixie · 01/09/2021 18:22

What has he been ok with?

Hope54321 · 01/09/2021 19:17

Yes, due to comvid I can’t seem to get an appointment for allergy testing despite having a referral.

Will they give you a telephone dieticians appointment? They might be able to advise which food to try

DominicRaabsTravelAgent · 01/09/2021 22:39

Honestly, I'd go back to the GP and show them photos of the eczema and hives and ask for a referral to the allergy clinic, or for it to be brought forward if they've already referred him.

Has the GP also sent an urgent referral to a Paediatric Dietitian as well?

He seems histamine intolerant and you should try foods low in histamines .
You can read a bit more here www.healthline.com/health/histamine-intolerance#diet including foods to avoid (which have given) and that's why it came to my mind.

While you wait for a specialist appointment , your GP can prescribe you an anti-histamine for babies.
