Is tuna OK for 7 month old?

My nearly 7 month old daughter has been eating pureed veg, baby cereal, smooth yogurt, pureed veg and chicken and fruit purees for about a month now and I feel that I need to be adding more to her diet but am unsure what to try next.

Is tuna in springwater mixed with potato OK and would I still need to puree it?

How do people give egg to their babies - boiled and then mashed up?

Any other ideas for what else to try would be appreciated.

I'm new at this and finding it all a bit daunting so any advice would be good.

yes, tuna in spring water should be fine for your lo. Whether you need to puree it depends on how your lo is with food that is not smooth. Re: eggs - you could do well cooked scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs mashed up. Neither of my lo's like eggs so that is not on our menu!!

Have you tried finger foods along with purees? e.g. toast, sticks of cooked veg/soft fruit, bits of cooked pasta, grated cheese, etc

yes tuna is fine. we get the springwater one too. not really any need to puree anything at 7 months. see how your baby gets on with whole food.

you can buy fresh line caught tuna st Tescos etc a tiny bit for about 80p, my ds2 loves it and it contains the omegas which tinned doesn't

tuna is fine i would mash it to the consistancy she would be used too with her other food.i boiled eggs and mushed them up in a cup

DS is also approaching 7 months, I ran out of ideas so for inspiration i had a look at the jars of baby food in the supermarket and made similar myself at home.

I've started making meals for DP and I with no salt and reduced salt stock so I can mash/ puree them for DS, I've done beef casserole, chicken pie, spag bol and vegetable and cheese bake. DP says he's never eaten so well (cheeky bugger) and I don't have to cook seperately for DS.

DS has a few finger foods which he sucks on - stuff that is easy to pick up like toast, banana, melon, steamed veg

Thanks!

I am just starting with the finger foods - gave her some bread yesterday and she had a little bit and then tried again today and she wasn't as keen. I will start giving her more bits to try but am a bit scared of her choking!

Thanks for the ideas. I will try tuna and egg next (but not together!...)
