My advice is not to worry.

he is prob just learning a new trick to push his food out.

Have you tried any other finger food?
banana, toast, carrot, turnip, chips, fish, basically anything which is soft and he can pick up and eat.

My dd did not really eat anything for the first 12 months and I got demented and really worried about her.
Once she started 1 it all changed and now she can feed herself life is abit easier (she is nearly 2)

I think the secret is NOT to worry about what they eat.
Relax, chill and do not hover over him as her eats otherwise he will pick up on your tension.

Believe me they will eat when they are hungry.

Some days my dd has nothing to eat, and other days she eats lke a horse.

Please do not worry about this, he will get all his nutrition from his milk at this stage.

hello, i agree, if you can, try not to stress as it is probably a phase, which (although very frsustrating and worrying for you) will pass. my ds is now 11 months and about 6 weeks ago went through a phase of literally blowing raspberries with EVERY mouthful - it drove me mad and made me really worry he wasn't getting enough to eat. the only time he would eat was if i just gave him toast soldiers, bits of cheese, bits of banana, rice crispies on his high chair tray etc. i ended up being sprayed with food every time i tried to spoon feed him anything and spent a lot of time walking away to take a few deep breaths! thank goodness it did pass and touch wood he's eating well again. my hv said food can be a real control issue so it's important no to let them see they're getting a reaction. good luck though as i know how difficult it can be!! xx
