Batch cooking recipes that are also 9m+ friendly

I’m looking for batch cook recipes that are suitable for my 9m old that my husband and I can also eat (basically not purées). There are days that we’re all to tired to cook so need something we can throw in the microwave and it’s nice when we can all eat together as a family.

So far all I’ve thought of is no salt bolognese. Any other ideas please?

How about Cannelloni?

Meatballs - we do beef or Turkey usually.
Stew - beef, chicken, vegetable (sausage)
The bolognese can be made into chilli or lasagna.

Chilli, bolognese, chicken curry (my youngest ate one made with tikka paste at that age), beef / chicken casserole, tomato pasta sauce, fish / cottage pie, corned beef hash

Also veggie meals quite good as can mash easier and be easier for them to chew than meat. I made one recently with onion / carrot / celery base, added sweet potatoes, chickpeas, lentils, chopped tomatoes / purée and chopped peppers and that’s gone down a treat with flatbreads

I just blended their portion then as they got used to lumpier textures blended less, then mashed it

Fish pie
Tagine
Chicken cottage pie ( sauce is made with Leeks, bacon, tarragon and creme fraiche)
Veg pasta sauce
Meat pasta sauce
Casserole / stew
Shepherds/ cottage pie
Mild curry
Cauli cheese

If you want to do curry and think it might be too spicy for little one, you can always stir some natural yoghurt in their portion Smile

Lamb or oxtail casserole, slow cooker until the meat falls apart, serve with mash and or broccoli

Shepherds pie, make potato topping with half sweet potato half ordinary, use low salt stock cubes.

But actually by then mine were eating curry, Mexican food etc. I shredded chicken etc with two forks. One particular favourite was chicken, cheese and black bean quesadillas, the Mexican restaurant near us brought them complimentary for them, I was wary but the owner explained she weaned her kids on them - kids loved them so much she gave me her family recipe (wasn't on restaurant menu)

All these are great ideas thank you!

Yes I think I was just a bit worried about anything with spice in but good to know that it’ll most likely be fine (within reason).

I especially like the quesadilla idea

There's a couple of books I like, one is What Mummy Makes, the other is We're Hungry, I can't remember them authors names but they have nice ideas (mine is a toddler so but older but hth)

I made chicken curry dd loved it and coped with rice well. Can use packet rice or put a naan bread in the oven for dipping.
I roasted vegetable (peppers courgettes onions aubergine garlic) added passata blended, can freeze, add herbs can be a base for pasta. Sausage casserole, I would add some mixed beans for sausage caserole.
Blueberry pancakes. 2 bananas, 2eggs, cinnamon, enough flour or ready brek to make into pancake mix (I ask so add two spoonfuls of peanut butter to up the calories). Add in chopped blueberries. Fry, allow to cool then freeze. I always just defrost in the microwave. Serve with yogurt, or spread peanut butter on. Lots of fruit.
