Ok, so this one is all plasticy and cheap looking but is fab - lasts forever, easy to clean and adapts to - dd2 now sits in with the barrier bit at the big table, dd1 has one without the barrier so uses it like a standard chair at the table. Well worth the money and far better than the expensive padded reclining jobby we spent £100 on and dd hated (kept sliding out, was huge even when folded up).

(would have quite liked the ikea one too but we live in the deep South (Bournemouth) and no Ikea for 100 miles! )

jenkey, i know a nanny who recommends that as the best high chair she ever used. she also likes the ikea and says she has broken toes from the tripp-trap.

Is that an Ikea booster seat AitchTwoOh? Do you know what it's called? (Can't find it on the website). Ta.

AitchTwoOh · 15/11/2007 10:05

no, i think it might be a fisher price one.

We splashed out on the M&P one of the time which lasted from when ds1 was 16 weeks (it reclines) until ds2 was about 2. I would really recommend it but agree with Mcdreamy about nooks and crannies.

I think it depends on you as a family aswell. DD1 and DD2 both hated highchairs so as quickly as possible[both by 8mths] were in booster seats at the table. there is no way I could get dd1[now 23m] in a highchair as they all prefer to sit at the table.

Agree with the Trip Trapp. DS originally had a mamas and papas one which drove me nuts (so many places where food would hide, and it looked revolting uless I cleaned it with a toothbrush every 2 weeks!). Also, not very good for social meal purposes. I got the trip trapp and he is still using it at 4. Useful because he's too short for the adult chairs, and he would be way too big for the old high chair. Have already ordered one for DS2 (yet unborn!).

PS, if you'd like a free Mamas and Papas high chair in good condition and live in London, it's yours for free!

We have the Ikea one and it's fab. Mum's bought one for her house too, we were so impressed! So easy to clean too. Seat fits in dishwasher apparently (we don't have one so haven't tried it!)

AitchTwoOh · 15/11/2007 10:42

oh, with regards to social eating, you can pop the tray off the ikea one and pull it straight up to the table as well, just like the tripp trapp.

LilRedWG · 15/11/2007 10:44

Ikea one all the way! We laid out for a more expensive one and then got the Ikea one a few weeks later - so much easier!
