10.5 month old not interested in morning milk or breakfast

Has anyone experienced this? My DD always has a bottle on waking (6oz) and then about an hour or so later I give her breakfast and she usually eats it all without a fuss.

Last 2-3 weeks she’s been refusing breakfast even if I leave it longer, but now she doesn’t want milk either! Last 3 mornings she’s only drank 2oz of milk and a couple of mouthfuls of breakfast and that’s it.

No issues with lunch, mid-afternoon bottle, dinner and bedtime bottle - just seems to be in the mornings!

Any suggestions on what I can do? I’ve offered a wide variety of different foods and always get the same response from her (even though I know she likes them!)

Maybe she's just not hungry until later on.
It doesn't really matter about amounts at breakfast if she makes up for it later in the day

I agree with dementedpixie.

My ds is 17 and never eaten breakfast. The only one of my dc with this habit!!
Not worth starting a battle about food. No toddle starved themselves

My 1yo is the same with dinner. Breakfast, lunch and snacks in between, no problem. But for dinner, he really doesn't eat much and rarely finishes his bedtime milk. I'll offer the same amount of food / milk every evening just in case, but I don't force him to have it. I just trust he knows how much he wants. He's generally well, happy and thriving, so I don't see much of an issue with it. It's probably just your LOs preference. Or maybe just a phase (that's why I offer the same amount, just in case one day he decides he wants more and can't talk yet haha!!)

Thanks everyone.

I just worry too much about her weight I think. She was 3lb 9oz when born at 36 weeks and she’s still so tiny so I panic when she doesn’t eat/drink enough. Sad (FTM!)

As long she is following her centile then she is fine. Neither my nearly 2 yr old or nearly 5 yr old like breakfast and they are prefect height and weight.

@Thatwentbadly Well she hasn’t been weighed since she was 5 months old but I’ve weighed on my scales holding her and subtracting my weight and I think she’s doing okay - however accurate that is. Hmm She just feels ‘skinny’ to me sometimes 🤣

My 1yo was weighed once, a month after he was born. Then lockdown came and no visits since then. We have a luggage scale (the hand held one) so we just pop him in one of those big IKEA bags and weigh him...I wouldn't dare stepping on the scales myself! 😅😂

@eensyweensySpider that’s what partners are for!
