Weaning advice 6 month old

I'm starting to wean my 6 month old. So far he has tried mash banana. Mash potato, yogurt. And toast last night. I tried him on a carrot piece today but he was just sucking it. Now with the toast it got soggy and I'm confident he ate some but obviously carrot is harder to go soggy so if he's just sucking at it does it count as a meal

Did you cook the carrot - its easier to eat if softened by cooking?
It's more about introducing tastes and textures than being a full meal at this stage

It was cooked but maybe wasn't soft enough

Ok so what age is it less about taste and more about eating a meal

When they start to take more food it counts as a meal. At that age you don't need to limit to 1 food at a time so you can be more adventurous about what you offer.

Ok so when SHOULD a baby be eating a proper meal by

There is no 'should' and it depends when you start weaning. You would work up to 3 meals somewhere between 6 and 9 months.
