Hand blender should suffice. As they are close to 6 months you should be able to give finger foods too

I bought a tommee tippee blender for £12.50 and a microwave steamer for £8 on amazon, I'd of used my hand blender but I can't stick it in the dishwahser like I could the mini blender.

I used a hand blender for the first one and it was absolutely fine. The second one arrived and point blank refused any purées or mashed food so the blender stayed in the cupboard.

We had a secondhand babycook for DS. I loved loved loved it! But it is a luxury, we used a hand blender for DD and it was totally fine

A hand blender or a fork!! You also may find that they aren’t keen on purée food. Then it will be a massive waste of money to buy something specialist.
Ice cube trays are perfect size to freeze purées.

The baby purée stage for me never lasts very long at all. Then they’re just onto eating almost whatever we have for mealtimes.

Definitely just a hand blender. So much cheaper and can be used for other things as well, like soup and sauces. I still use ours to make pasta sauce for DD and she is 4 now.

I also had a puree refuser second time round
