Pumpkin Puree?

I've just started weaning my dd2. She has had sweet potato and apple with baby rice so far and has enjoyed both of them. My next door neighbour has just given me half a pumpkin.

I just wondered if any one had ever given baby pumpkin and whether it's ok to? I've looked in the Annabel Carmel book and there is no mention of it in there.

Anybody?

I know pumpkin is jsut one of those weird things that we just scrape out the insides and put a face in it, and a candle up it's backside but it seems such a waste.

plus..... it's looking sad on the side

yes of course you can
after 6mo they can have almost anything
best roasted and then pureed (or roast in lumps and offer as finger food) rather than steamed iirc

or make pumpkin muffins

Pumpkin Muffins, now they actually sound tempting

Pumpkin Puree here we come.

Off to the kitchen I go.

Thanks

well

Woo Hoo it went down a treat. We had arms and legs a flapping.

I roasted some in a little olive oil too with our roast. It was lovely, reminded me of Parsnips.

It is just another form of squash - like Burtternut, Marrow or Courgette. Like the idea of giving whatever is seasonal tbh.
