Hi,
Just wondering if anybody has any good baby food recipes, that your babies have really enjoyed.
DD is 7 months old and started weaning at 5.5 months. She really enjoys her food and I enjoy making stuff for her.
We are mainly doing traditional weaning but am open to BLW recipes also!
Thanks :)

My second baby is now 9 months old and started solids at 6 months. Absolutely no “baby food” has ever been made. She eats what we eat. We mash up the food and spoon feed her till she wants no more. We read her body language and signs very carefully. She feeds herself a wide range of things including breads, dry food, fruits and veg. As an example: yesterday was Diwali. I cooks three curries. She ate a bit of each mashed up with rice as her “main” with lots of Naan to chew on. I really don’t think separate baby food needs making. Her first ever solid meal was chicken curry and rice (I am Indian, spouse is not) - mashed up very smooth.

I agree with pp, just mash up what you have or give it in chunks/ sticks that baby can pick up. Makes it a lot easier.

There is a great fish pie recipe on Ella’s Kitchen, my DD enjoys that (6 months).

I would recommend downloading the pdf from the Caroline walker Trust, has some lovely recipes (skip the puree bit)

Both of mine loved Cheese straws and they will keep for a few days in an airtight container.

Have you had a look at the MN Weaning Recipes? There are sone great ideas in there Smile
