Well maybe the very odd nibble of something but generally just spits out.
Hes dairy intolerant and possibly wheat so weaned later at 6.5m as was awaiting a paediatrician apt. Which ended up being just a phone call but seeing them next week.
Then allergy testing before Xmas.

We've tried.
Puree
Steamed or boiled veg, potato.
Free from versions of, cheese, toast, crackers, the baby snacks that he is able to have.
Dairy free desserts.
Bits off our plate.
Food on tray to play with so to speak.

He takes soya formula. 5 x 7oz feeds.
I've lowered that. Tried solids before bottle. After, mid way.

Literally everything I can think of.

He will take an odd dairy free choc from Nana and grandad!

My other dcs were a breeze, weaned earlier than should. Not fussy at all. In fact they prefer a veg dinner to a quick dinner.
And love fruit even now as a toddler and teen!

He was weighed 3 weeks ago and is still on his line. He has weight on Monday before his paed apt Tuesday.
HV said just persevere but give a week off trying to lower any anxieties. And then it may seem amazing and new once he tried again and it didn't work.

I'm stumped. I worry all the time.
But he's happy. He sleeps 12 to 14 hours a night and naps well.

Any tips especially with allergy foods.

My daughter had no allergy issues but was a terrible eater until she was well over 1! Remember food before 1 is just for fun, there still learning and don't really need food yet. Just let him explore the food, and it'll click eventually.

Hey OP!
My 10.5mo is not a great eater at all. He's IGE allergic to dairy, egg, peas, lentils & likely also fish, tree nuts and sesame.
I would say my number one struggle is actually finding things he can eat, my number two struggle is convincing him to try it and my number 3 struggle is having him keep it down.
He gags and vomits a lot so I think he finds eating tricky. He also hates being spoon fed and wants to do it all himself.

Biggest hits so far =

-Anything that's a 'puff' e.g. Bamba peanut snacks, Organix carrot puffs.

-Baby porridge (not easy to find a brand with no Dairy CC but there are a few)

  • Steamed veg and stewed fruit
  • Home made vegan muffins
  • Toast or rice cakes w. Peanut butter or smashed avocado. He isn't great at eating the rice cakes.
  • Pasta (rarely wants it though)
  • Soya yoghurt. Tesco do a yummy Fromage Frais alternative in a big pot.

Looking forward to see other response.

My two boys have been complete opposites with this. Eldest doesn't have allergies but wasn't interested in food for a long time when we started weaning at 6 months. It took ages and he's a fussy eater now 5 years later.

Youngest is allergic to dairy and we think other things but not sure what yet. Definitely reacting to something recently. We were advised to wean him early and he loved food from the word go! Ate loads of everything! It's tailed off a bit now. I just think they are all so different.

Thank you. There's only 1 baby porridge I've found that doesn't have dairy or wheat!

But he tends to refuse it.

Lunch we've done crackers, dairy free cheese sticks. Cucumber sticks. Fruit Puree banana and Yoghurt.
He ate a grand total of 1 spoon of fruit Puree.
Rest he put in mouth and spat out.

Its so stressful. It makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong
I get the food for fun till one thing
I get all kids are different. But I'm still so upset by it all

I completely empathise.
Its meant to be a fun time where they can explore new tastes and its just a big stress.
I also spend way too much time worrying about recipes & food ideas. Such a bloody faff as I make things and then he refuses them.

I keep telling myself at least it has to get better at some stage!

Also if its any consolation, lunch was a disaster in my house today too. I even called my DH at work!
Gave baby pureed sweet potato and carrot and he took one bite then vomited all his milk. Ugh!
