1 year old refusing bottle after being unwell

Hope this is the correct topic!

13 month old DD had been unwell after her first year jags. She's much better now but refuses her bottle. She's mostly BF but had been taking two bottles a day for the last few months.

She's refusing the bottle and is super keen on BF since she was unwell, which is understandable. Would be great to get her to accept milk from a bottle or cup again so she's not reliant on me. I've tried cows milk, formula, half and half, bottles and cups with no luck. If we persist for more than say a second, she starts getting upset which is a shame.

Just wondering if anyone has been through the same? Any tips?

Thank you!

She might have an ear infection, sometimes the extra pressure required to suck on a bottle can make ears more painful

Have you tried some watered down juice in a cup? I did this when i first introduced a cup and then when they were happy to drink from the cup just watered down the juice more and more until it was plain water again.

Does she need the bottles? My DS is also 13 months and he has a small bottle in the morning and then a bottle before bed but that's it and it's not massively interested in the latter. I imagine we'll drop it at some point soonish as he eats fine and gets plenty of calcium that way.

I think you're supposed to wean them off bottles and onto cups at a year anyway. I suppose she's just made it easier for you!
