Where do we go from here?

DS is nearly 6 months and we’ve been weaning for about 2 weeks. So far he has been having single fruit and veg purées (home made) which he is loving - I don’t think there’s been anything that he’s refused to eat so far. We’ve just been doing one meal a day at lunch time and he’s been having about two table spoons of purée.
Just looking for advice on where to go now? Should I introduce breakfast? And what other foods would you start to offer?
Thanks!

The next step is learning how to chew. At this stage it’s about introducing foods with a little more texture, like foods that have been mashed. Instead of using a blender, just smash the food until you have a coarse puree. Gradually mash foods less and less and introduce soft lumps over time. And add minced meats, diced chicken or turkey, flaked fish or grated cheese.
He could also have finger foods like fresh fruit pieces, strips of vegetables or cubes of cheese to help develop his hand and eye coordination.
Breakfast is a great time to try new things, because he should be well refreshed and not tired or grumpy!
After that try introducing baby-friendly versions of some of your family favourites at dinner.
It is not uncommon for babies to cut down on the amount of food temporarily as they are mastering a new texture. It is a very normal reaction. It also may take longer for him to eat the same amount of food.
There’s no need to worry about how much he eats – his usual milk still fulfils most nutritional needs for the time being.

I wouldn't over think it, it's more about different tastes and developing their interest at this stage. Give a few bits when you eat - e.g. banana at breakfast, toast finger at lunch, carrot stick at teatime. Even if he plays with it, it doesn't matter.

Also.. we followed the ellas kitchen step by step- there was an order to which foods to begin in what order. Looking back I don't think This was needed, but I found it helpful at the time.

Hi, my DS1 is the same age and he has 3 meals a day however we did BLW so he just had bits of whatever we had. We skipped doing the purees etc. I think its just up to you as to which meal you want to introduce. For breakfast he has porridge, fruit, toast or fruit mixed with yoghurt. Good luck!

Add in finger foods.
